Jesus, my (Facebook) friend
02.07.09 (8:50 pm) [edit]I don't know how many of you are on a networking site like Facebook or MySpace, but basically what you do is add "friends" and then your profiles--which contain info about you and a message board basically-- get linked so you can leave each other messages. Some people add everyone they can get their hands on whether they actually know the people or not while other people only add people they only know very well. That's up to the user. Personally, I have at least met almost every one of my "friends" the only ones I haven't are friends of friends that our mutual friend suggested we get to know one another. Now a stalker is someone who has plenty of friends on the site but rarely leaves them messages. They will stop by their profiles occasionally, read up on what they're doing, look at their pictures, read some of the messages others have left them... generally make sure the person isn't dead and then leaves.
I feel like I'm Facebook stalking Jesus. I'll make a stop in His word every now and again. (I am getting better with that. I have increased my number of devo times per week from none to several, thanks to my New Years resolution.) I read up on whatever the devo has in store for that day, dig a little deeper if necessary, shut the Good Book, click off my book light and hit the sack. Why don't I leave Jesus messages? Why don't I quit Facebook stalking Jesus and really be His friend by talking with Him daily?
I feel a new self-challenge coming on. :-)

You're learning to crawl!! now learn to walk! spent 10 - 15 minutes in the morning in quiet time w/ Him...or in prayer! again in the evening...and watch things grow!!!

Jesus-stalker? Nice analogy! I think you would agree that a relationship with Jesus is meant to be much more intimate than most Facebook connections.
