That's Life.
01.20.09 (6:36 pm) [edit]I've begun a new semester-- my last as an undergrad. I am not sad at the end of this chapter in my life at all. Not that I haven't enjoyed it, but I am ready to move on to grander things. My classes won't be all that difficult, more like pesky flies than anything else. I'm only taking eleven hours-- technically not even full time-- and eight of those hours are essentially the same class just with different titles. Now those eight hours are difficult classes that require a good amount of study time, but I feel like my studying for them kills the proverbial two birds with one stone. The last three hours on my schedule are my last major class and basically is how to be a personal trainer. There are fine details I need to get down there, but really that's not that difficult. With all the other classes under my belt, it is more or less just tying all my university education together in a neat package.
When I'm not in class-- which is quite often these days-- I'm on the tennis court as this is my last chance to play high level competitive tennis. I'm working to hard to be the best I can be for this last bit. I've also picked up a yoga class at the gym once a week. I've really enjoyed it so far. I opted for that because the only tennis injuries I've had while at university have been because I don't stretch enough.
Wedding planning is creeping into my daily life too. Greg and I haven't decided when we'll get hitched yet. We have narrowed it down to this coming Christmas break or the next Christmas break. My goal this week is to get that decided and roll with it. I feel like such an idiot dragging home so many bridal magazines, catalogs filled with wedding themed favors, decor, etc. and registry catalogs. I'm the first of my friends to be engaged so I feel about as conspicuous and ridiculous as a purple horse on roller skates. I'm dragging my mom, his mom and a couple friends to a wedding expo this weekend. I'm a bit nervous about willing walking into a place with that much estrogen. I've always been a bit of a tomboy.
That's life.

first of all, congratulations on your engagement. Perhaps you could treat this wedding expo as research for one of your term papers, or whatever. If I could be so bold as to make one suggestion-- take a list with you of all the things you know you'd like to have at the wedding-- specific props, entertainment, etc; and also think before you go, what your entire budget for the event will be. It's easy to piece-meal projects, and then be over budget by quite a lot. And Don't commit to anything at the expo, even if they say it's a special price, without thinking through the consequences of your commitment -- to the vendor, not your groom :-). Hope that's not too forward of me, and hope it helps.
