Internship and Summer Class

06.02.08 (8:14 pm)   [edit]

More or less of an update, that's this entry.

I'm soooo tired today. I started my internship today AND summer school. The work and school itself was a breeze, but I didn't sleep very well last night; I never do the night before I start something new. So I survived today on Advil. Yeah! I just took a wee post-work nap though, so the headache has abated. Hopefully I will wake up soon, and the temperature will go down a bit so I can work out in a little more comfort.

I'm kind of excited about the internship. I'm not getting paid-- unfortunately. I bet that if I had known that I would be needing an internship this summer earlier, I could have landed the tech position at the place I'm working at and been paid. The girl they have just started last week and she's a junior communications major. Basically, she knows little to nothing about the field. I may not have had all my major classes yet, but I have way more clinical experience and special knowledge than she does. But she knows this particular clinic better than I do, so I figure we will be learning a lot from each other. I'm also excited because while I was doing my observation work the other times I was in a PT clinic, I wasn't legally allowed to have much patient interaction. I've got the title "intern" now, so I actually get to help treat patients this time! Yippie!

I'm not too terribly scared about my physics class... yet. The professor promised the lab would be an A as long as we showed up every time. I like those kinds of labs. The class itself is centered on 9 grades-- 5 tests doubled, with one grade dropped. About half of each test will be directly from the homework, which we will not turn in for a grade. The tests are on Monday too, so if I want to, I can put off doing the homework problems until the weekend! Which I will probably do, because I'm BUSY during the week. I'm either at class or work from 8-5ish everyday. Then Wednesday night, I have a going away party, Thursday a welcome home party and Friday Bible study. Sheesh. That's just this week of course, but I'd rather save my evenings to re-coop and work out/play tennis some. I miss playing. They had it on ESPN today at the clinic and they kept flashing bits of Maria Sharapova's match--which she lost to a racquet throwing nobody-- and I want to get back on the court!!

Well, I'm sufficiently awake from my nap now. I've been watching people work out all day, now it's my turn!

P.S.-- I got my swimsuit in the mail late last week. I'm sending the oh so cute bottoms back, because it doesn't cover my entire bottom! What do they think I am, Brazilian?

I was thinking you intended to travel or do something else equally exotic and non-schoolish? I guess the practical and smart side of you always wins out over the whimsical? You'll do well. Good for you about the swimsuit!

Safina is not a nobody! She's pretty talented and her brother has won a major.
