Almost Done!!

05.09.07 (12:54 am)   [edit]
I believe a more bloggie type blog is in order.

Woah! Tblog doesn't force you to skip 2 lines automatically anymore when you hit "enter". That's crazy.

Tennis season is over. We won conference-- that makes 7 years in a row-- and lost in the first round at nationals. I blame our loss totally on myself. If I hadn't had been so nervous and played like a 2 year old, the top three would have pulled out their matches and I could have easily beat my opponent if I had been myself. I had a game plan up my sleeve and everything: her backhand never went in once; however, none of my shots ever went in at all. haha.

School is almost over. I'm taking finals this week. I have two tomorrow and two on Thursday. I'm really scared about my trig final; I haven't started studying for it yet and it's on Thursday. I studied really hard for the midterm and got a C-... that's how much I LOVE math. *sarcasm*

I currently smell like old musty books because I had another donation come in today. My goal over the next few weeks prior to going to Outdoor Ed. Camp--which I will discuss in a moment-- is to create a database for all the books I have in stock--which currently number in the hundreds, maybe over a thousand-- and send the database to the used book stores in town and see if they would buy any of them from me. I was originally thinking I'd have a book sale on my front lawn but some people down the road have their own used book sale once a month and I never see but a few cars there.

Now, Outdoor Ed. Camp is a required "class" for my major. I'm going to spend a week at a lake camping out and learning stuff like kayaking, sailing, how to shoot a rifle, archery and rappelling, none of which I have previous experience in. Oh goodie. No, I really am excited; I enjoy learning new things and I've been wanting to kayak really bad since last summer.

Well, that concludes my life at the moment. Perhaps more detailed and more frequent postings are to come as these future events become present.

Kayaking sounds fun. I'm studying the idea myself, and may buy a used kayak from craigslist. There are so many good streams within an hour of here, and I understand it is great exercise. I wish you the best with the books. I like to go to Goodwill and look through the books. Theres always a couple that perk my interest. Lat week I bought a book about the health and well being of cats. Interesting, since I dislike cats.

PD, you crack me up. When I was a kid, my grandmother would take me to Goodwill to shop around for books and toys but she called it the "library" in my presence because she didn't want other people to know we shopped at Goodwill. haha.

That camp sounds like fun! Where is it at? It can't be near Abilene if there is a repelling area.
What do you mean you don't LOVE math!? It's fun! Well, ok, I guess trig isn't exactly a crazy fun subject, but most other math is.
BTW, would you send me the book data base too? What do you charge?
