Cancer victimizes young
01.15.07 (6:26 pm) [edit]An old friend of mine-- high school doubles partner to be specific-- has passed along this prayer request which I pass along to you.
Her 11 year old cousin, Abbie, was diagnosed with childhood bone cancer about 3 weeks ago. She's undergoing chemotherapy and experimental treatments. Cancer is horrible for adults, but for a child... I can't even imagine. I know I've posted lots of prayer requests here lately, but who can resist sending prayers for an acutely ill little girl? Pray for her and the family's strength, not only to fight the disease but to fight together.

I'll be going into the sanctuary in just a few minutes for a morning prayer time. 11-year-old Abbie will be in those prayers. May the treatments have the desired effect, and may this young lady live a long and God-honoring life. And may you be a source of sweet comfort to your friend.

That is sad. I am thinking about your anger towards this monster. It is certainly understandable and well founded. The key for all of us is to properly channel such anger. I'm not trying to be presumptious or overly righteous about your refreshing honesty- may we all be as truthful with how we feel- but when I enter into my prayer time in a few moment, I will ask for you to have wisdom with how to constructively channel your encounter with this dreaded disease. I do think such passion can do much good. God bless.
