Splendid Fear
If I had wings

What a dandy life I'd lead.
Soar amongst the clouds;
Take off on a whim.
Not a care
Except for an occasional rain or downdraft
Which pose souly for more adventure!
Turning acrobatics all the day long.
Why do some sport wings
Yet neither soar nor flap nor float nor glide,
Content to stay on ground
With the tools for splendor at their side?
Perhaps I too have wings
And am yet afraid to fly.

The photo did not show, at least not on this particular computer.
I'm thinking about wings. I don't think the Bible teaches we will have wings in heaven, although it is a popular understanding. But it would be really something to be able to travel without limits of gravity, or even time or space. Just "poof" and you are there! Maybe that will be an aspect of eternal life?
As to the here and now, speaking for myself I spend far too much time clucking around with the chickens without enough consideration of soaring.

Actually, yea, that would be cool. That happened to me once and it was the perfect ironic ending to the worst day of my life. I stood there in my front yard laughing for about ten minutes. Giving laughs would be great!
